Nokia launches X7 Mobile Phone with Symbian Anna OS
Another stylish Smartphone hits the market from one of the world’s largest mobile phone supplier Nokia - the new Nokia X7 Smartphone is loaded with Symbian Anna v3.0 operating system.
The phone runs on a 680 MHz ARM processor with a Graphics Accelerator, also found in previous N8 and E7 models. The modern, fresh-looking OS works very well and responds to button presses quickly. It is more intuitive and responsive than its predecessor. It provides for a smooth transition when the orientation of the screen changes. The new icon set of Anna is quite refreshing.
The split-screen keyboard feature helps for an easier text input. The security features have been developed significantly. Although it provides an OK user experience, it also lags at many times. It comes with a 450 MB internal memory expandable to 32 GB by means of microSD slot. Features such as Wi-Fi (b/g/n), Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS and 3G are also supported.
Nokia X7 sports a 4-inch wide Gorilla glass protected super AMOLED display with deep colors. Despite that it runs a low resolution of 360 X 640 pixels which fails to complement it. The Gorilla glass protection adds to the phone’s durability and gives it a rugged and strong build. The phone also has 4 built-in stereo speakers for a good music experience and the bundled hands-free kit is quite comfortable on the ears. The audio output is loud and crystal clear.

The rear camera is of an impressive 8 MP however the fixed focus delivers poor images. No auto-focus, which is surprising. Face-detection and geo-tagging are supported. It comes with a dual LED flash and also 720p video recording. The front-faced camera has a resolution of 2 MP.
The Nokia web browser works alright. Although it lags a bit due to its under powered processor it supports HTML5, CSS3 and Flash and is hardware accelerated. A 1200 mAh battery powers the device. It can provide with a continuous music playback of 50 hours, a standby time of 450 hours and a talk time of 6 and a half hours. Another feature worth mentioning would be the voice guided OVI maps which works in an excellent fashion with the addition of a new feature called the public transportation route.
Clearly, the phone scores in terms of looks, build quality and an interactive UI, it could definitely improve some more on its speed (by opting for a faster processor), display resolution and introduce some more features such as automatically syncing the contacts with their respective social networking details. Overall, the phone can be rated as a decent performer.
