Ubuntu 11.10 Tips:How to install Mozilla Firefox 10.0a version(Deb format) on Ubuntu 11.04/11.10
We already wrote about Firefox 10 alpha version.We also provide links for downloading.But we provide tar.bz2 file for Linux.But on Ubuntu,deb format is used to install Applications.It is better that tar.bz2 source file.Here we discussing "How to install Firefox 10 on Ubuntu using debian files".
Many people use commands for installing new updates.But it not needed.We can directly download all new updates from ppa.launchpad.net
For all new Firefox updates:ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mozilla-daily/
Use this link and ppa/-->ubuntu/-->pool/-->main/-->f/-->firefox-trunk/-->
Search for new updates
For Mozilla Firefox 10.0a
1.Follow the above steps
2.Download (Download Firefox 10.0a debian file)
firefox-trunk_10.0~a1~hg20110928r77757-0ubuntu1~umd1~natty_i386.deb and firefox-trunk_10.0~a1~hg20110928r77757-0ubuntu1~umd1_i386.deb
3.Use first file ,if there is any problem install second also ( I think it is not require)
4.Close Firefox Browser (current),close all Firefox windows
5.make sure that all Downloaded files are available on Downloads folder
6.Open terminal
Type cd Downloads
Example :sibin@sibin-P4I45Gx-PE:~$ cd Downloads
Enter
7.Type
sudo dpkg -i firefox-trunk_10.0~a1~hg20110928r77757-0ubuntu1~umd1~natty_i386.deb
Example :sibin@sibin-P4I45Gx-PE:~/Downloads$ sudo dpkg -i firefox-trunk_10.0~a1~hg20110928r77757-0ubuntu1~umd1~natty_i386.deb
Enter
Enter your password
Enter
8.Close Terminal after installation
9.Goto Ubuntu menu -->Internet
Check for Nightly web browser.If you can see this browser,installation completed.
Open this browser.If it disappear quickly ,install the second file also.
10.If you are using amd ,Download amd files.
Download Firefox 10.0a for Windows and Mac Labels: Firefox 10, Ubuntu 11.10
